As an alternative to traditional news sources, I've been watching The Real News Network for the last few months.
Real News is not yet broadcasting, but offers a fair bits of news and commentary online. The long term goal of the Network is to provide an alternative televised news source to what is now available. It will do so through donations and subscriptions from those who watch, rather than through advertisements, money from government or commercial interests. This will allow Real News to escape editorial direction from such interests.Real News is a great idea, and I find myself checking it out regularly (you can sign up for email updates to let you know what the newest stories are.
